What a day. What a performance. What a team.
The game got off to a fast start which suited Scorpions perfectly. A tactical change seemed to completely flummox Kirkham, with Bako being asked to play up front — and he did not disappoint.
Only five minutes into the game, Bako waltzed through the Kirkham defence before placing a hard low shot into the corner. Goalkeeper had no chance.
🔵 1 – 0 Scorpions
Three minutes later Rahim decided to join the party. A poor kick out from the Kirkham goalkeeper was half-volleyed first time from the halfway line straight into the empty net.
🔵 2 – 0 Scorpions
Scorpions were now permanently on the attack. Kirkham had no answer to the triangular movement and passing between Azziz, Rahim and Bako.
Scorpions were playing some really good football throughout, moving the ball quickly, creating chances and most importantly taking their chances when they came.
Any attack from Kirkham — usually a big kick from their goalkeeper — was dealt with brilliantly by our outstanding defence consisting of:
🛡 Blake – never put a foot wrong
🛡 Kleo – the girl with the blue tinsel in her hair
🛡 Ramy & Layth – “The Management”… nothing gets past us
The game became one-sided and professionally controlled by Scorpions.
Wingers Daniel and Noah were displaying slippery skills, pace and determination, while also tracking back and helping the defence whenever needed.
Azziz and Rahim were constantly searching for openings to release Bako — and we didn’t have to wait long.
Rahim threaded the ball through the middle and once again Bako calmly slotted into the corner.
🔵 3 – 0 Scorpions
A huge kick from the Kirkham goalkeeper eventually caught our defence high on the halfway line. Their striker ran through and scored, but not before a brilliant last-ditch tackle attempt by Blake and a brave save attempt from Charlie at the striker’s feet.
🔵 3 – 1
Bako looked over to the line, clearly not impressed they had scored.
What followed was pure entertainment.
For the next forty seconds he danced, pirouetted and glided through the Kirkham defence before rounding the keeper and rolling the ball into an empty net.
🔵 4 – 1 Scorpions
Substitutions were now flowing, with Tyler and Alfie entering just before halftime.
⏱ Second Half
New additions Zakary, Tyler and Alfie transitioned perfectly into their roles and instructions.
Kirkham came into the game stronger in the second half and deserve credit for never giving up. They tested Charlie with long-range shots and free kicks, but he stood tall and produced some excellent saves.
The final word of the game belonged to Bako, who fired another long-range effort into the corner to seal the victory.
🔵 5 – 1 Scorpions
The final whistle went.
The screams were loud.
The celebrations began.
Scorpions had won the cup at Bloomfield Road.

To make the achievement even bigger, this was Kirkham’s first defeat in 16 games.
An unbelievable performance from every single player.

A great team performance each child playing their part yesterday. Dominating through the early Cup rounds, Quarters and Semis even beating two teams from Division above.
The team celebrated as a team – together, with their parents and then with the trophy. Well done Scorpions, you should be so proud of yourselves.
