The U12 Scorpions kicked off against the Poulton Myrmidons today and what another exciting game it was. First goal of the match came from Bako, true to form. He makes every second count and with his incredible footwork he effortlessly chipped it over and straight past the Myrmidoms keeper. It was clear from the starting whistle that Passions were high and both teams were there to win. The Scorpions Players were communicating and encouraging each other. Putting into practice what the coaches have said, this team showed true sportsmanship.
Oliver showed the opposition that he was not shying away from pressure, he held position and worked hard to retain possession. Daniel used his stamina to wear down the Myrmidoms midfield, forcing them to make mistakes which rami and Tyler were more than comfortable to intercept. Leighton showed incredible strength and determination as he made a powerful pass, from the half way line, up to Bako who was again waiting for his second goal of the game. A formidable strike!!!
The Focused and confident Blake used his skill to keep the ball in the opposing half for majority of the match, whilst Alfie used his size and speed to take the advantage, enabling him to run the ball up the left and across to Bako who was waiting in the corner to shoot it over. Scores going into half time : 3-0
Returning to the second half there was much more attack from the Poulton side. There were some hard tackles made but the Scorpions kept composure and continued to control the game. Charlie H now in goal, We witnessed Charlie p come out of net and dominate on the field. He intercepted the ball with great success. Using his commanding kick, he delivered the ball all the way down the pitch and straight to (C) Kleo. Kleos magical feet left us stunned, with a perfect strike straight into the corner of the nets.
With the Poulton side now in possession, Layth worked tirelessly, he never gave up, chasing and attacking. The Myrmidoms scored their first goal of the match 10 minutes from the final whistle with a sweet strike. The Final goal, bringing this inspiring game to a finish was scored by Poulton Myrmidoms, leaving the final result as 4-2.
Again the Spirit of Youth U12 Scorpions showed massive improvement on the pitch. This team have shown up week after week and delivered! Each and every player stands out.
Wonderful result, some things to build on but I have no doubts this team will deliver.
