🏆 Raptors U10s Players of the Month 🏆
This month, the coaching team decided to do something we’ve never done before and award two Players of the Month. Both coaches agreed that Joey and Emilia had been outstanding, but we simply couldn’t choose between them. They have both stood out in different ways and fully deserve the recognition.
So a huge congratulations to Joey and Emilia! 👏
⭐ Joey
Joey has had a fantastic month and has shown real growth both on and off the pitch. His attitude towards training and matches has been excellent, he’s been turning up on time, ready to work, and with a real willingness to learn.
Most importantly, Joey has done brilliantly to channel his emotions in a positive way and focus on helping his teammates rather than letting frustrations get the better of him. We’re really proud of the maturity he’s shown.
On the pitch, he’s been an absolute machine! Defenders have been left scratching their heads as Joey’s pulled out some slick 1v1 skills, and if there’s a sight of goal from 20 yards, you can bet Joey is having a go! They don’t all fly in (yet 😆), but we love the confidence and bravery to try.
Keep it going, Joey – now the challenge is to make this the new normal!
⭐ Emilia
Emilia continues to be one of the most reliable players in the squad and has had another excellent month. Her understanding of the game has really improved, and she has shown great maturity when adapting to different teammates and situations during matches.
She’s making smarter decisions on the ball, showing confidence to switch play, drive into space, and pick out teammates across the pitch with some lovely passes. Her vision has been outstanding, and she’s backed it up with some excellent interceptions, tackles and recovery runs.
One thing we love about Emilia is that she’s never afraid to stand up for what’s right and always puts the team first. She has become a rock at the back, even if she occasionally likes to stay so deep. She just must not want to miss out having aidens ” what you having for tea chats” 😄
The next step is for her to trust herself even more and join attacks a little higher up the pitch when the opportunity is there.
