Spirit of Youth Supports Silent Weekend

This weekend, grassroots football clubs across the country will take part in Silent Weekend, organised by England Football.

The aim is simple: to give young players the chance to find their own voice on the pitch, make their own decisions, and enjoy the game without the usual noise from the sidelines.

During Silent Weekend, spectators and coaches are asked to stay quiet while the game is in play. Applause for good play is encouraged, but instructions and comments from the sidelines should be kept to a minimum. This helps create a positive environment where players can learn, communicate with their teammates, and develop confidence.

We kindly ask all parents, carers, and supporters attending matches this weekend to support the initiative and respect the guidelines. Your cooperation helps ensure the focus stays where it belongs — on the players and their enjoyment of the game.

Thank you for helping us make football a fun, safe, and supportive experience for everyone involved.
