Euxton east 0-8 Panthers
Another game against an Euxton team this week this time euxton east. We started the game really positively and with lots of energy making it as difficult as we can for the opposition. We took the lead in the tenth minute. Some really good work down the right from Macey whose cross found Annie. She calmly played the ball to Tilli who finished well from the edge of the box. We doubled our lead shortly after. Some strong play again down the right from Mya who’s shot hit the post and Mia being in the right place at the right time finishing well. Some more good work before halftime from Macey whose initial shot was saved but the ball fell to Milllie who calmly finished. Mia then extended our lead shortly after with some good pressing and a well taken goal inside the box to give us a 4-0 lead at half time. Second half we continued to play in the same manner. Some good passing from our midfield with Annie working the ball well to find space and played a perfectly weighted ball to Millie who ran towards goal and finished well. Annie was again the creative playmaker a few minutes later. She worked the ball well to ruby just outside the box who powered the ball home to give her her first goal for spirit. We scored again with Phoebe battling in midfield and driving on the right side. Her cross/shot looper over the keeper and nestled into the bottom corner. We completed the scoring with a great through ball from Mya who played Macey in and she finished strongly to give us a really good win.
Parents player of the game
This week there was only one option. Ruby. She was on it straight from the word go and was getting into really dangerous areas on the pitch. Some good link up play with her teammates and pressing the opposition. However, grabbing her first goal for the panthers and the way she scored it was brilliant, rifling it home from the edge of the box to hers, her teammates and parents delight. Well played ruby and we knew it would come!
Coaches player of the game
This week we chose Annie. She was at the heart of the creative aspect of our game today grabbing three assists. Her weight of pass and calmness on the ball was key in retaining the ball but also creating goal scoring opportunities. She battled really well and helped track back too to help her teammates out. Well played Annie!
