A wet and windy fixture this morning for our u13 Phoenix Legends but it certainly didn’t put a dampener on the game. It was a great game as it always is against St Annes Diamonds and both teams deserve a pat on the back for never giving up and fighting right till the end.
Heading into the wind for the first half, we created very little and the Legends found themselves 1 nil down going in at the break. The second half saw us in the Diamonds half for large spells and credit to them for limiting the shots on goal. We conceded another in the second half but the Legends didn’t give in. A well taken shot by Jens from a tight angle meant we entered the final stages of the game trailing by just the one. And then with the final kick of the game, Lewis fired in the equaliser from close range assisted by our man of the match Riley H.
A great game as always so a huge thanks to Ian and the Diamonds, and an even bigger thank you to the Legends for continuing to make us proud, week after week.
