Fantastic morning yesterday, for our U12 Scorpions, kicking off against Fleetwood. Bako delivered the first goal, straight past the oppositions keeper, into the top left. A flawless strike. Our Noah, wasted no time shaking off the Fleetwood defence, and was back on the attack, having received the pass from Alfie, he scored the second goal putting the Scorpions at 2-0. Despite the cold wether our scorpions were on fire 🔥 The Incredible footwork from Alfie secured our 3rd, with a fantastic run, keeping possession past 2 of the oppositions defenders, and planting it straight into the back of the net from the edge of the box. Fleetwood showed grit and determination, keeping the Scorpions defence busy, Tyler kept up the pressure, forcing Fleetwoods passes out wide to win the throw. Kleos speed was a force to be reckoned with for the Fleetwood gym juniors, taking possession with ease, she was just unstoppable. Goal keeper Charlie P put his gloves to use towards the end of the first half with some pretty on target attempts coming from the opposition, and after a strong attempt at our goal, Charlie punched the ball back into play, where Bako received it. With no time for catch up Bako was half way down the pitch, taking a shot from almost half way, his second goal of the match incredibly sailed past the Fleetwood keeper.
Halftime scores: 4-0
Coming into the second half we saw a stronger Fleetwood team, with much more attack, Noah had to work hard to win the ball and used his speed to create space right on the edge of the box, using his left foot this time, placed the ball just cms from the keepers reach and firmly in the net. Now it was the oppositions turn to show our scorpions, The Fleetwood gym juniors midfield showed passion and grit, they ran their socks off, winning possession and scoring their first goal of the match. Final goal for our Scorpions came from Jade, the perfect touch, delivered with power, the FGJ keeper dived but couldn’t get a touch. Minutes from the final whistle we saw an incredible strike from Fleetwood leaving the final score 6-2.
The Scorpions showed improvement on all areas of the pitch. This was a team effort and a well deserved win!!!
