Panthers 4-3 Kirkham Valkyries
Our first home game of the season and a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde performance. We started the game really positively with some great passing between our midfield and wingers and took the lead early on. Mia playing a great through ball to Millie who finished expertly. Our passing and movement in the first half was excellent and we grabbed another goal halfway through the half. Mia again at the heart of the creativity finding Tilli who calmly slotted home when one on one with the keeper. We continued to play some lovely intricate passes and extended our lead further. This time Mia getting onto the end of a pass from Millie to put us 3-0 up at halftime. Second half started brightly again with Mia running onto a pass from Millie again to give us a 4-0 lead. Kirkham did grab a goal back shortly after to add a bit of tension to the match. Mia could have had a hat trick with the ball bouncing against the post but just not crossing the line. This seemed to give Kirkham some impetus and they grabbed a couple of goals towards the back end of the match but the girls held on to grab our second win of the season. Well done Panthers!
Parents player of the match
This week went to Millie. She’s taken her form from the last game and went even further on Sunday. Her skill and movement were all on show as well as her composure that she is developing in front of goal. A brilliant performance. Well done Millie!
Coaches player of the match
This week went to Mia. Involved in all goals on Sunday and grabbed what turned out to be the winning goal. Her link up play was on show again on Sunday but her pressing and energy up top was great to see. Great composure with her goals and was very unlucky not to grab a third goal to complete her hat trick (if only we had round posts!) A fantastic performance Mia. Well done!
